The Purple Thing........What can I say other than this car is just rock solid.  It's not the fastest, not the prettiest, but it's dependable, strong, and fun to drive.  Gets a lot of compliments too, but can't take the credit for how it looks (Thnaks Bobby).  Katie loves the car, I like the car, yeah, it's a part of the family.

Well, it's quite an interesting one at that. This car used to belong to a member of a couple of web boards who used the screen name 93TAWicked1. That's why you see Wicked1 referred to in some portions of the site, it's because I figured why change what worked. Anyway;

Back in June 2003, having paid off my black 93 Trans Am a few months earlier, I was in the mindset that I don't need another car, but if the right opportunity for one presented itself I'd take it. I had been looking mainly at C4 and C5 Corvettes and LS1 WS6 Trans Am's. All that changed when I saw the post for this car.

The previous owner had put a post on CamaroZ28.com about the car, saying he was selling it. Having talked to and know him for approximately a year already from the old Speed Density LT1 Tech Forum, I felt like I knew the car.  I replied and said that my girlfriend and I may be interested. Bobby was looking to either part out the car, or preferably sell it as a whole.  Well, when we finally spoke, and he told me how much he wanted for the whole car (I'll get to that), it was a done deal.

Here's the skinny: The car had about 93,000 miles at the time of purchase, and he was selling it with all of the following modifications:

SLP Firehawk Hood, K&N Cold Air Induction, Ported Cylinder heads, GM Hotcam Kit, SVO 24# fuel injectors, Vented Opti swap, Mezier Electric Water Pump, Cloyes True Roller timing set, Taylor  Spiro Pro 8mm Plug wires with Made For You over the valve cover looms, NGK TR55 plugs, Mac Headers and Catalytic Converter, Mac Off Road Pipe, Flowmaster piping with a Dynomax Race Muffler, 97 console and gauge cluster, Corbeau Targa Seats, M6 swap (car was auto) with a newly rebuilt 95 M6, BMR subframe connectors, 1LE lower control arms, Hypercoil springs, aftermarket stereo and speakers, and 2001 Speedline WS6 rims.

Now, the good stuff. When asked on the price with all the mods, I was told a paltry $6000!!!!!!! Can you say sold? I couldn't believe my ears!!! I immediately set the process in motion. The loan was closed on June 25th, and the car was picked up for shipment from Oregon to New Jersey on July 8th. I took delivery on July 13th.

I couldn't be more happy with her either. She runs like the devil, sounds like a terror, and it a tire frying demon. I love driving her, and can't wait to get to the track.

Speaking of the track, under the previous owner, she went 12.69@105 with a 1.74 short time. The notable part about this is that this was accomplished with a bad 2-3 clutch pack in the transmission. Apparently she fell on her face in third gear. With any luck, I'll be seeing about good times very soon.

Bobby, if you're reading this, she's found a good home. We're taking very good care of her, and doing you proud. You just enjoy that pretty 2001 Sunset Orange Metallic WS6.
